Summary
VoIP telephony is the area of ICT, which is constantly evolving and is one of the most popular services searched by attackers and the abuse of vulnerabilities usually has a direct financial impact. VoIP providers are investing considerable funds into the development of its own network infrastructure, as well as to its safety. Ensure security of the VoIP services is not entirely trivial matter and attacks on telecommunication solutions, built on VoIP technology, will grow with a larger number of users. For the reason it is necessary to detect these attacks, catch the progress of such an attack and then prepare an effective defense against these attacks. The best way to detect attacks on VoIP infrastructure is VoIP Honeypot. The main motivation for the development of own honeypot for VoIP service is nonexistent actively developing project with a similar task, which is adapting the new security threats and it is developed according to the needs of the telecommunications market. Honeypot for VoIP services is purely software matter and the development of these solutions will be based on the virtualization, especially with a focus on VMware platform. The solution will be based on a Linux distribution and will be prepared in a virtual environment for the simplest deployment and clustering.
