Summary
This project is related to project No. 600/2017, 622/2018 and 636/2019, which solve the long-term concept of development and use of IoT technology LoRa and their applications across institutions that use the e-infrastructure CESNET. The presented, already the fourth, project in this area thematically follows up on previous projects and aims to verify the interoperability of LoRaWAN with 5G technology. The main goal of the project is to verify this interoperability by developing the 3rd generation LoRaWAN gateway, which will support the new possibilities of 5G transmission technology. Both technologies are operated within the VŠB-TUO campus in experimental mode, while both use the transmission capacities of the CESNET e-infrastructure. This will allow the solvers to perform above-standard activities in the development, optimization and testing of solutions. The secondary goal of the presented project is to expand the academic experimental LoRaWAN network by installing new gateways to sites of interest. The project will also make it possible to build a test platform and verify the operation of experimental technologies and services for IoT connected via the National Research and Education Network (NREN).
