As part of the program, a workshop introduced the LERCO project, aimed at creating joint consortia across universities and developing key scientific and research topics. Participants also exchanged experiences in applying for international projects and discussed activities supporting the project’s long-term development and sustainability.

This year’s conference also celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Czech Society for Biomedical Engineering and Medical Informatics. In the newly renovated Libušín, a new book History of Biomedical Engineering in the Czech Republic – Memories of Pioneers was launched, and distinguished personalities in the field were honored.

For their lifelong contributions, MUDr. František Jurek, Ing. Tomáš Klinkovský, and RNDr. Josef Čihák received awards. Among the honorees were also Prof. Marek Penhaker and Prof. Martin Augustynek from the Department of Cybernetics and Biomedical Engineering.

It was an honor for us to co-organize this significant event, which strengthens the connection between the Czech and Slovak biomedical engineering communities.
