VSB-TUO joined the International Summer School in Opole

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science took part in the International Interdisciplinary Summer School, organized by Opole University of Technology within the NAWA STER program. The summer school focused on developing both scientific and practical skills of doctoral students from various fields and countries.

Participants attended lectures and workshops covering topics ranging from intellectual property protection and metrology to personal skills development and the use of artificial intelligence in science.
Professor Radek Martinek presented the research infrastructure of Signal Lab, which specializes in advanced signal processing and its applications in medicine, industry, the automotive sector, and space research. His presentation was followed by a hands-on workshop led by Dominik Vilímek, where participants worked with available AI tools for data analysis, publication support, and solving scientific tasks.

The cooperation between VSB-TUO and Opole University of Technology has a long-standing tradition. Participation in this year’s summer school not only strengthened Czech-Polish collaboration in doctoral education but also reaffirmed the long-term partnership between the two universities.
