The FEI Innovation Hub combines laboratory facilities with a classroom environment, offering conditions for hands-on teaching, project implementation and the development of technological creativity. Its preparation took several months and builds on the faculty’s long-term commitment to fostering innovation and supporting active, technically oriented students. It will serve FEI students, secondary school students and their teachers, research teams and members of the general public.

“The Hub offers a wide range of modern technologies for signal measurement and generation, development software for programming embedded control systems, equipment for soldering and electronics development, as well as PRUSA 3D printers for rapid prototyping. It will regularly host specialized clubs for secondary school students and talented children, along with workshops and hands-on training where students can try implementing and using the available equipment,” explains Zdeněk Macháček from FEI.

Students of the faculty will use the Hub for assignments and projects as part of their studies, competitions or their own development work. For emerging research teams and project initiatives, the space provides a platform that enables rapid idea validation and access to modern technological equipment. “Students and staff have the opportunity to collaborate on research and development projects, share experience and support each other. This space is ideal for early-stage projects and research teams who can use the available technologies to turn their ideas into reality,” notes Dean Radek Martinek.

The FEI Innovation Hub will also be available to other university faculties and external partners, particularly within joint projects or practical applications.
