The Regional FIRST LEGO League Challenge Tournament Has Announced Its Winners

On Saturday, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at VSB – Technical University of Ostrava hosted the regional round of the prestigious international FIRST LEGO League Challenge competition. The event was also supported by the Moravian-Silesian Technology Academy.

Nine teams from the Moravian-Silesian Region took part in the tournament, competing throughout the day in the disciplines of Robot Game, Robot Design, Innovation Project, and Core Values. The participants demonstrated not only technical skills in programming and constructing autonomous robots, but also creativity, presentation skills, and strong teamwork.

The award for the best Innovation Project went to team GMO from Mendel Grammar School in Opava.

Team Kybernauti B from VSB–TUO won the Robot Design category and also achieved the highest score in the Robot Game.

In the Core Values category, which focuses on teamwork, the jury was most impressed by team Katarakta from the Secondary Technical School and Business Academy in Bruntál.

The overall winner of the tournament was the high school team Kybernauti B, mentored by instructors from VSB–TUO. The second team advancing to the National Final is GMO.

We congratulate both advancing teams and look forward to meeting them at the National Final. We would also like to thank all participating teams for their efforts and enthusiasm and hope to see them again next season.
