The studio was originally located in Building N, but had to be dismantled due to the building’s reconstruction. It has now been reinstalled at FEI in room EB428.
“I am pleased that our students and staff now have access to state-of-the-art facilities that they can use both for teaching and for creating their own content,” said Radek Martinek, Dean of FEI.
The multimedia studio is used mainly by students of the Department of Telecommunications. It supports teaching in the courses Multimedia Formats and Transmission Systems in the bachelor’s programme and Multimedia Content Creation in the follow-up master’s programme.
Over the past years, the studio has hosted the production of a wide range of audiovisual projects, including promotional videos, expert discussions, and live streams.
Advanced equipment
The newly opened studio is equipped with professional technology for complete audiovisual production. Its facilities include a green screen, studio lighting with LED Fresnel lights and LED panels controlled via a DMX system, and a video control room with a TriCaster Mini HD4, intercom communication, and a Tally system.
The audio setup includes a StudioLive mixing console, studio monitors, and wireless camera audio systems.
“For recording, we have professional Canon XF200 cameras, and we have recently added the Canon XA70. Students can work here with technologies commonly used in professional television and media production,” said Přemysl Mer from the Department of Telecommunications.
The multimedia studio will not serve only FEI students. It is also open to other faculties of the university, and the Faculty of Economics at VSB – Technical University of Ostrava has already expressed interest in incorporating the studio into its teaching activities.
