The CzechSkills competition is one of the key national platforms for promoting vocational education and the development of practical skills. It is part of the international WorldSkills International initiative, which brings together young talents from various fields and allows them to test their skills at both the national and international levels.

This year’s CzechSkills 2026 competition also featured Pavel Kubiczek, a student in the Computer Systems for the 21st Century program, and Vítězslav Madzia, who studies Control and Information Systems. Together, they participated in the Industry 4.0 category, where, in collaboration with Festo, they prepared a project proposal that they subsequently presented at the competition. “We were selected primarily thanks to our technical background and experience in the field,” they describe their participation. Each country sends experts to the competition who represent specific disciplines and contribute to the technical organization of the event.

VŠB–TUO’s successful representation was further highlighted by an award presented to the students during the final gala evening. The university thus received a diploma in recognition of its contribution to vocational education and cooperation with industry.

Following their success at CzechSkills, Pavel Kubiczek and Vítězslav Madzia will head to the prestigious EuroSkills competition in Düsseldorf, where they will represent the Czech Republic next year against other European talents.
