FEI Researchers Presented the Results of the DECOSIS Project at Libavá

The research team from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at VSB – Technical University of Ostrava presented the current results of the DECOSIS project (Development of a Control System and Demonstrator for Processing Image and Sensor Data from UAV Swarms Using Machine Learning) to representatives of the Czech Armed Forces. The presentations and live demonstrations took place at the Libavá Military Training Area.

The presentation was part of the second expert workshop focused on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), their deployment, counter-UAV technologies, and their role in modern military operations. Representatives of selected Czech Armed Forces units attended the workshop, where they had the opportunity to explore the latest technological developments in an environment reflecting their intended operational use.

As the lead project partner, VSB – Technical University of Ostrava presented the hardware and software solutions being developed to support operations involving unmanned aerial systems.

“The opportunity to present the project results directly to representatives of the Czech Armed Forces in the realistic environment of a military training area is extremely valuable for us. Their direct feedback enables us to further tailor the system to real operational needs and enhance its performance in demanding field conditions,” said Filip Řezáč from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at VSB – Technical University of Ostrava.

The DECOSIS project is funded under the TA CR PRODEF programme and is built on close cooperation between academia, industry, and public institutions. The project brings together VSB – Technical University of Ostrava, the University of Defence, UpVision, and IMPAERIA GLOBAL. Continuous validation of the developed technologies with their future end users plays a key role in ensuring that the research results can be successfully translated into practical applications in the fields of defence and security.
