Summary
In this project we shall focus on the qualitative properties (like the existence and multiplicity of solutions, stability of solutions, bifurcation phenomena) of nonlinear ordinary and partial differential equations. Special attention will be paid to the second and fourth order quasilinear boundary value problems, nonlinear equations with degenerated and singular coefficients and equations with jumping nonlinearities. Some concrete mathematical models will be considered (such as suspension bridges, nonNe wtonian fluids, nonlinear reaction diffusion equations and systems, clamped plate equations etc.) and also purely theoretical questions will be addressed (completness of the set of eigenvalues of the p-Laplacian, Fredholm alternative for nonlinearmapping s, etc.). Numerical analysis of above models and problems will be also performed. The results will be published in international mathematical journals, the results of computations will be available on the internet page of the research team.
