Title
Extrémně rozsáhlé výpočty (supercomputing) a tvarová optimalizace v geomechanice
Code
GA105/99/1229
Summary
The project contains three main goals which are united by the use of high performance iterative methods and the effort of large scale applications in geomechanics. The first goal consists in the development of numerical methods which are suitable for the efficient solution of large scale stress computation problems which arise from geomechanics. This goal includes: parallel implementation of the iterative solution methods, solution of nonlinear problems by the Newton-type methods which additionally utilize incremental loading and gradual refinement of the computational grids and development of the iterative methods for accurate local analysis. The last topic concerns the so called composite grid methods whose iterations combine the solution of a subproblem on coarse global grid and subproblems on fine local grids. A furher goal of the project is the sensitivity analysis concerning mainly the uncertainty in the material parameters.
