Summary
The project is aimed at acquiring new knowledge needed for the development of technology and services related to automatic calibration of end gauges in the range up to 100 mm through the implementation of industrial research and experimental development. The results of these activities will lead to the introduction of higher order innovations and to an increase in competitiveness not only within the domestic market but also abroad. The project aims at the implementation of industrial research and experimental development activities with a specific focus on the construction of experimental equipment for the automation of the end gauge calibration system. The expected result of the project is the acquisition of new knowledge and functional samples through the realization of parts of an automatic system for calibration of end gauges in the range up to 100 mm. Phase 1 of the project (OP-PIK) focused on the research of possible methods of automation of individual stages of the process of calibration of end gauges and the design of the concept of the process of backfilling of calibrated gauges. The output of the first phase of the project was the design of an automated system for the calibration of end gauges, including a subsystem for the removal and identification of end gauges. This phase was successfully completed and all its objectives were met. Phase 2 of the project (OP-TAK) focuses on the development and validation of the sub-system for cleaning of the end gauges, the sub-system for calibration of the end gauges and the sub-system for backfilling of the calibrated gauges. In addition, this phase aims at integrating the individual subsystems and verifying the performance of the whole. The output of the second phase of the project will be an automated end-of-line calibration system. The programme activities are directly linked to the strategic objectives of the National Research and Innovation Strategy for Smart Specialisation of the Czech Republic.
