Summary
The main objectives of the project focus on the research area of green hydrogen generation produced by water electrolysis using renewable energy sources. The project focuses on the development of anion exchange membrane electrolysers (AEM-EC) that do not require expensive catalysts or PFAS substances. This technology offers a low-cost solution, but faces challenges in terms of manufacturing processes, reliability, and durability. The aim of the project is to develop efficient and robust membranes for industrial mass production, thereby reducing the cost of manufacturing bipolar plates (BPP) by up to 30%. We also want to achieve an improvement in efficiency and service life of up to 20%. Design optimization and degradation behavior monitoring will be achieved using optimization and digital twins. The knowledge gained will then be incorporated into the optimization using artificial intelligence algorithms. The result will be a functional laboratory AEM membrane designed for production
