At the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, VSB-TUO, today marked the ceremonial matriculation of first-year students, who officially began their university studies.
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science took part in the International Interdisciplinary Summer School, organized by Opole University of Technology within the NAWA STER program. The summer school focused on developing both scientific and practical skills of doctoral students from various fields and countries.
The first meeting of the project team for the Research Platform for Digital Transformation and Society 5.0 took place at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of VŠB-TUO. The project is funded by the Jan Amos Komenský Operational Programme (OP JAK) under the Long-term Cross-sectoral Cooperation Programme for the Ostrava ITI. It focuses on the development of technologies supporting digital transformation and energy optimization.
As part of the Math4U Supports Teachers and Students project, hundreds of interactive training games will be developed, new applied examples will be added, and methodological guides for teachers will be created.

At the turn of spring and summer 2016, ESPORT VSB-TUO OSTRAVA LEAGUE was established as an active association that focuses on the phenomenon of computer games and the association of people who are active in this community. One of the secondary goals is also the effort to eradicate the stereotypical negative opinion of computer games.
