A new PhD student, Chiara Pollastrini, has joined the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at VSB–Technical University of Ostrava. Her research focuses on radar technologies for monitoring vital signs and daily rhythms in chronically ill individuals. The aim of her work is to contribute to early detection of health issues and to improve quality of life through smart and contactless technologie.
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava has signed a memorandum of cooperation with AGEL Nový Jičín Hospital. Both institutions will collaborate in the areas of research, development, and education, focusing on modern technologies in healthcare.
We consider cooperation with companies and the opportunity for students to gain practical experience during their studies to be one of our priorities. Thanks to the close connection between teaching and practice, our graduates are highly employable, and companies are involved in shaping future experts.
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava organized a charity raffle for the first time as part of this year's Christmas gathering. The proceeds were donated to Charita Ostrava to support the St. Christopher Charity Center – a mobile hospice and home care facility.

At the turn of spring and summer 2016, ESPORT VSB-TUO OSTRAVA LEAGUE was established as an active association that focuses on the phenomenon of computer games and the association of people who are active in this community. One of the secondary goals is also the effort to eradicate the stereotypical negative opinion of computer games.
