Joint research projects, exchange stays for PhD students and researchers, sharing of know-how, access to cutting-edge laboratories, and the connection of academic research with industrial practice are the main objectives of the new collaboration between the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (VŠB–TUO) and the Centre for Efficiency and Performance Engineering (CEPE) at the University of Huddersfield in the United Kingdom.
Our freshmen got acquainted with the faculty management, the faculty environment, obtained important information about studying in general, but also information about specific study programs (of course, practical tips were not missing either), and most importantly, they got to know their new classmates.
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at VSB-TUO has long supported young technical talents through extracurricular clubs. Until now, these activities have only taken place on campus, but starting this year, we are opening online clubs for high school students, making it possible for participants from all over the Czech Republic to join.
Since September 1, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at VSB-TUO has been headed by Radek Martinek, who previously served as Vice-Dean for Science and Research. He takes on this role building on the experience gained during his four years in the faculty’s senior management.

Total eligible costs of the project CZK 164.5 million.
FEECS is the proud home of Esport at VSB-TUO!
At the turn of spring and summer 2016, ESPORT VSB-TUO OSTRAVA LEAGUE was established as an active association that focuses on the phenomenon of computer games and the association of people who are active in this community. One of the secondary goals is also the effort to eradicate the stereotypical negative opinion of computer games.
