The European Space Agency (ESA) has selected 13 Czech scientific experiments to be carried out aboard the International Space Station (ISS) as part of the upcoming mission of Czech astronaut Aleš Svoboda. Among them are two projects from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at VSB – Technical University of Ostrava, which combine cutting-edge technologies in nanorobotics, biomedicine, artificial intelligence, and sensor systems.
Tatra Trucks and DEVINN, in cooperation with VSB - Technical University of Ostrava, are launching the development of a new hydrogen-powered Tatra Force e-Drive FCEV 6×4 truck. The project, co-financed by the European Union, will be completed in 2028. The result will be a prototype of a three-axle commercial vehicle designed for municipal services with hydrogen propulsion and the option of automated driving and remote control.
Representatives of the Federal University of Tocantins (UFT) from Brazil visited the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, VSB – Technical University of Ostrava, to discuss further technical collaboration.
How can education be connected with the rapidly growing battery industry? Participants of the BaTT Teachers Forum educational course, held at VSB – Technical University of Ostrava, gained the latest insights into trends in the field of batteries and the automotive industry. The event was part of the international CaBatt project, supported by the Erasmus+ programme.

At the turn of spring and summer 2016, ESPORT VSB-TUO OSTRAVA LEAGUE was established as an active association that focuses on the phenomenon of computer games and the association of people who are active in this community. One of the secondary goals is also the effort to eradicate the stereotypical negative opinion of computer games.
