The 22nd edition of ŠKOMAM 2026 took place
The 22nd edition of ŠKOMAM, a traditional event aimed at students in the final and penultimate years of secondary schools with an interest in mathematics, took place at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. This year’s edition welcomed more than 70 participants from approximately twenty secondary schools across the Czech Republic.
FEI contribute to the development of a secure communication platform for security forces
Experts from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at VSB – Technical University of Ostrava have joined the development of a new generation secure communication platform, CHIMERA 2.0. The project responds to growing cyber threats and the need for sovereign, fully controlled communication for the Police of the Czech Republic, the Czech Armed Forces, and other key state institutions.
Project-Based Learning in Practice: FEI Students Connect Biomedicine and Sport
Students of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (FEI) at VSB – Technical University of Ostrava took part in a course-based project focused on measuring muscle fatigue. Chiara Pollastrini: I want technology to help people live longer and healthier lives
A new PhD student, Chiara Pollastrini, has joined the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at VSB–Technical University of Ostrava. Her research focuses on radar technologies for monitoring vital signs and daily rhythms in chronically ill individuals. The aim of her work is to contribute to early detection of health issues and to improve quality of life through smart and contactless technologie.

At the turn of spring and summer 2016, ESPORT VSB-TUO OSTRAVA LEAGUE was established as an active association that focuses on the phenomenon of computer games and the association of people who are active in this community. One of the secondary goals is also the effort to eradicate the stereotypical negative opinion of computer games.
