Photovoltaics without borders: FEI student at the ČEZ Academy

Matej Šturek, a student at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava, took part in the ČEZ FVE Hackathon – Photovoltaic Academy. The event offered students from technical universities practical training in photovoltaics, excursions to major energy facilities, and collaboration in international teams.

Computer Networks Laboratory undergoes modernization

The Computer Networks Laboratory at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at VSB-TUO has undergone extensive modernization in recent months. Thanks to new equipment, it now provides students with better conditions for teaching and experimental work in the field of computer networks.

VSB-TUO sends nanorobots and a smart T-shirt into space

The European Space Agency (ESA) has selected 13 Czech scientific experiments to be carried out aboard the International Space Station (ISS) as part of the upcoming mission of Czech astronaut Aleš Svoboda. Among them are two projects from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at VSB – Technical University of Ostrava, which combine cutting-edge technologies in nanorobotics, biomedicine, artificial intelligence, and sensor systems.

At the turn of spring and summer 2016, ESPORT VSB-TUO OSTRAVA LEAGUE was established as an active association that focuses on the phenomenon of computer games and the association of people who are active in this community. One of the secondary goals is also the effort to eradicate the stereotypical negative opinion of computer games.
