The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at VSB – Technical University of Ostrava has achieved a significant success in the field of healthcare research. Two of its projects have received funding through programmes of the Czech Health Research Council.
Batteries that have reached the end of their service life in electric vehicles can play a key role in the energy sector. Researchers at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, VSB – Technical University of Ostrava, are therefore developing a universal diagnostic and control device that will enable the safe integration of various types of used batteries into storage systems.
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at VSB–TUO has officially opened the FEI Innovation Hub, a space designed for teaching, research and development projects, student activities, events for secondary school students, and leisure activities for the public. The Hub was created to support innovation, practical education and talented students.
Another workshop of the Moravian-Silesian Technology Academy focused on supporting the teaching of automation at secondary vocational schools was held today at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of VŠB-TUO in Ostrava.

At the turn of spring and summer 2016, ESPORT VSB-TUO OSTRAVA LEAGUE was established as an active association that focuses on the phenomenon of computer games and the association of people who are active in this community. One of the secondary goals is also the effort to eradicate the stereotypical negative opinion of computer games.
