Quantum Networks with Trapped Ions: From a Single Atom toward Intercity Quantum Networks
Quantum networks offer a way to connect quantum systems over large distances, enabling new possibilities in secure communication, distributed quantum computing, and precision sensing. This talk introduces quantum networking with trapped ions, from the control of individual ⁴⁰Ca⁺ qubits and the generation of ion–photon entanglement to the entanglement of remote trapped-ion qubits. The final part briefly introduces my current work in Prof. Hlubina’s group.
